As a REALTOR® committed to sustainable communities I personally provide a rebate up to $500 to my clients that invest in energy efficiency upgrades to the residential property that they buy or sell. This rebate is in addition to over $2500 in grants available through the Energy Savings Plan and BC Hydro.
My personal rebate is based on the new Federal ecoENERGY Retrofit initiative. I supplement the standard rebates of these programs by 10% of the cost incurred to do any of the recommended upgrades up to $500. This rebate is offered to clients whom I am representing in the sale or purchase of a home upon completion of that sale. If the assessment and recommended upgrades have been completed prior to the completion of the sale of the property, I will pay the seller the rebate at completion. When I represent a client in the purchase of a new home, they must complete the work and follow up assessment within 6 months of completions of the sale.
